A puppy could definitely bring a lot of joy to your home. However, before you bring your puppy home, there are things that you will need to prepare first to make the puppy feel comfortable when you bring it home.
The first thing that you will need to prepare is a place where your puppy could stay. Clear out a small space in the house where you puppy could stay. Note that puppies will need a space where it ca neat, sleep and play without really bother other people.
You will to prepare a bed for your puppy. Since puppies will need to stay warm and comfortable, you might want to give it some cotton or wool blankets for bedding. Cotton or wool blankets are really good for puppies because you can easily clean or wash it whenever needed.
Since you can easily find some cotton or wool blankets in the stores, it would be easy for you to replace it when necessary. When it comes to the bed, try not to get your dog one of those wicket dog baskets especially when you are planning on getting a bulldog pup. Dogs love to chew on things and a wicker basket would be an easy target.
It would not really take your puppy mush time to chew the wicker basket into bits and piece of twigs so do not even try using that wicker basket. Furthermore, when your puppy starts chewing on the wicket basket, it could swallow some bits and pieces of twigs and choke on it.
Another important thing that you will need to get your dog is the food dish. When choosing a food dish for your dog, do not get anything that is made up of plastic. You dog may chew on the plastic and swallow some of it too. Plastic could really make your dog sick when they ingest it. As for the water dish, it would be best not to get those made up of plastic materials also.
Your puppy will also need some bathing supplies such as shampoo, cotton balls, mineral oil, a bathing basin, washcloth and some towels. When you get a shampoo for your puppy, make sure that you get one of those milk formulas that will not irritate he eyes of your puppy.
Do not buy your puppy one of those anti-fleas and ticks shampoo because they are often made up of strong ingredients that could irritate the skin your puppy. Besides, if your puppy happens to be free from any infestations, there is really no need to get your puppy one of those anti-flea shampoos.
